Nice historical centre, however the best view is from the road. The are bars and restaurants in the downtown, direct access to the beach. Just around a corner there was an amazing Orbetello nature reserve which will be interesting for birdwatchers. Dozens of flamingoes even in May.

This felt like a hotel with remaining covid caused issues - under staffed ( i.e pool furniture not ready in the mornings / pool bar closed ) slow service etc
I am sure that it will return to its former glory but some areas need some updating / redecoration and staff
Also the hotel should mention if they are putting you in the annexe which is across a not very pleasant car park
Overall the hotel has a wonderful setting but needs a little work

What a great little gem of a town, small, and yes, tourists,...
What a great little gem of a town, small, and yes, tourists, but plenty to see and do within walking, and more places to explore by car or local bus. Mix of free and private beaches, go to the east side where there are no breakwater rocks. --we chose to pay for umbrella and chairs at Bagno Vela and returned again the next day. Got affordable, fresh, good food at the attached restaurant for a pleasant al fresco lunch. There are places to ride a bike (a dedicated path heads south along the pine tree coast) and lots of rentals available, our hotel offered them for free. . Safe, easy to get around, and with the castle and medieval town on the hillside over the center, a real delight to explore especially toward sunset. We stayed 2 nights, another day at the beach would have been great. Having seen some of the other beaches further down the coast, Castiglione Della Pescaia was a great pick for pleasant waves, clean water, and light sand. It is likely busy during the weekend even in September--we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, but by Monday the beaches had thinned out nicely while still having a fun resort feel. Friendly and welcoming people abound. Osteria Del Mare for an unforgettable seafood dinner.

We had a great week staying close to Castiglione.
We had a great week staying close to Castiglione. Although our property was about 10 minutes drive away from the town centre, we spend most evening there enjoying vibe (and the gelato). The town has all the amenities that you would need, and plenty of restaurants and bars to keep you occupied in the evenings. During the day, we spent most of our time on the beach at nearby Rocchette, which was excellent.

A nice small coastal town with the old town on the hill and with a "castle" with two towers on top of it all. There is a nice view from the top but the towers are in private ownership so you can not enter the "castle".

Green territory, modern equipped cabins and nice beach. It was quite cold in May, so we were glad that we could use air conditioner in a heat mode. Wi-fi worked well. Due to mid season check-in and check-out process didn’t take a lot of time. The deposit was paid by card, no cash needed, but there was an ATM just right to reception just in case. Restaurant offers large choices of pizza (and not only pizza) with a take away option.
Everything was well organized. The beach was good for family-style frolicking in shallow waters. The tent-cabin we rented was very clean and comfortable and well appointed, including a little kitchen area that had everything you needed to cook with. There is a small grocery shop in the center of the compound, with prices that were not bad: a little higher than a typical grocery but not terrible at all.
The house is located in a quiet picturesque place. It took us about 15 min by car to the parking lot to the dog beach. The house itself is cozy, all windows are equipped with a mosquito net, and the kitchen has quit a lot of dishes, although of course it would be convenient to have a dishwasher. A wonderful place for vacation!
Beautifully situated in the middle of an olive grove, managed by very kind hosts (and a super friendly dog - Otto :) ), apartment offered everything we needed. Perfect starting point for visits to nearby bays (incl. nice hiking trails), the Medieval old town of Castiglione della Pescaia, or Parco Regionale della Maremma.
From the time we arrived, everyone there made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. Even more wonderful was the upgrade to our room at the same price! We truly appreciated that. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The location is perfect for going to the beach and into town. We also appreciated the free parking.
What a place! The host Serena is absolutely lovely and serves delicious breakfast. The garden and pool area are stunning and there’s beautiful walks in the area. It’s a short drive to town (with beaches and restaurants) but we could have stayed at the hotel all day because it’s so beautiful.
fantastic location close to Grosseto and very close to Casteglione della Pescaia. The grounds were well kept up and the pool was great for cooling off from the hot weather. We had to change our location at the last minute and Casa Maremma “Peonia” end up being an excellent find
Everything but especially the staff! Without exception everyone who worked there was hospitable, friendly, helpful! The facility was amazing from the hotel to the beach to the amazingly designed pool. The restaurant was lovely and the food exceptional.
Very good hotel at the 1st Line near the beach. Breakfast is absolutely delishious. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. And location is just 10 minutes of walking from the old city. I would be glad to be back, and stay at this hotel again.
The location was stunning, accommodation was wonderful and Rosi was the perfect host, even inviting us to her amazing garden for a coffee! Would love to return
Location was great, right on the beach. The single bed was a big one, so my legs did not stuck out. It was surprisingly comfortable too. Some staff were nice.
